Press Release - August 8th, 2007- Varsity Contractors has recently achieved a significant industry milestone as the first building service contractor to be certified with honors in the prestigious Cleaning Industry Management Standard.

The CIMS assessment program has been established by ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association), the widely recognized cleaning industry association, to provide a certification process for an entire company (rather than just for individuals). ISSA intends the CIMS certification to provide facility managers and purchasing agents with standards for the selection of building service contractors. CIMS certified companies have differentiated themselves from the competition through successful completion of the CIMS certification process. ISSA believes that the CIMS certification will provide purchasing agents and facility managers with a metric for prequalification of prospective bidders for their RFP?s. Varsity has moved ahead of the competition by becoming the first BSC to certify and to earn honors in the CIMS certification program.

To achieve certification, Varsity was assessed by an ISSA qualified 3rd party auditor. The auditor spent several days reviewing Varsity documentation, and three days interviewing Varsity employees, validating documentation and visiting job sites. The CIMS assessment covers five different areas of qualification: Quality Systems, Service Delivery, Human Resources, Health/Safety and Environmental Stewardship, and Management Commitment.

To certify with honors a company must achieve 100% of the required elements in each of the five areas, and at least 85% of the recommended items. Varsity achieved 100% of both the required and the recommended elements?surpassing even the requirements for certification with honors!
